Hello all Meerkat Parents/Carers, Family and Friends
It’s lovely to be back for a new year! We are looking forward to seeing how the children grow, progress and develop in Meerkats.
Our expectations are very high in the classroom and the children are expected to produce work of a very high standard and have behaviour to match. Their work needs to be to the best of their ability and presented beautifully.
We are trying to encourage the children to become more independent as they are now in Key Stage 2, and encourage you to allow the children to enter the classroom independently. This will also ease congestion in the cloakroom for our class and the Pandas class next door.
PE Our PE days are Monday and Tuesday, Full PE kit must be in school at all times during term. Not having a full kit in school will result in the loss of a star.
Homework is given out on a Friday and needs to be handed back in completed by Wednesday. Homework is to be completed to the same standard as the rest of the children’s work, only in pen if the child has earned their pen licence. Alongside homework, children should be reading at home. Please initial your child’s reading record when you hear them. We hear each child read regularly during reciprocal reading although it may not always be their home reading book. Any homework not handed in will have to be done at lunchtimes.
If you feel that there are any changes or events, however small, which may affect your child then please pass on this information to us so we are aware. We have lots of exciting things planned for the year, starting with our topic The War of The Roses (are you red or white).
We are very excited to start the new year in the Meerkats and hope to have lots of fun throughout our learning.
