Adults in the Room:
Class Teacher—Miss Clowes
Teaching Assistant—Mrs James
Intervention Staff— Miss Markham
Our expectations are very high in the classroom. The children are expected to produce work of a high standard and have behaviour to match. Their work needs to be presented well to the best of each child’s ability. We are of the opinion that we learn from making mistakes so as a long as your child is doing their best then that is all we ask for.
PE Days— Tuesday Morning—Swimming Year 5/ PE Year 4
Thursday Afternoon—Whole Class
Kits need to be in school on those days and earrings need to be taken out as they can no longer put plasters over them.
It is useful for the children to have their PE kits in on all days incase of a change. Please make sure they have suitable indoor and outdoor kit as we may do both.
Children should also have a labelled water bottle in class to keep them hydrated during lesson time. We have a holder in the classroom so they can help themselves without asking at appropriate times throughout the day.
We are trying to encourage the children to be independent ready for moving up the school and for secondary school so please could parents leave children outside the classroom and let them bring in their things for themselves. It also eases congestion in the cloakroom for the two classes.
Any homework not handed in will have to be done at lunchtimes. Homework is to be done to the same standard as the rest of the schoolwork and only in pen if the child has earned their pen licence.
Children need to be heard read at home to move along the Reading Rainbow, as well as Times table practice and spelling practice
If there are any changes or events that you feel may affect your child, however big or small, please let us know as this can help us to understand uncharacteristic behaviour.
We have lots of exciting things planned for the year, starting with a local history study and the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings for this term. We are also sorting out lots of exciting trips and events. We are very excited about this year and hope to have lots of fun.
If you wish to get in touch with us for whatever reason, you are more than welcome to come and see us in class or you can send us an email to KClowes@linton.derbyshire.sch.uk or DJames@linton.derbyshire.sch.uk. We will reply as soon as possible. Thanks.
