Welcome to Linton Primary School Nursery
And Reception
About Us
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) at Linton Primary School is currently made up of a Nursery/ Reception Class – Honey Bees, and a Reception Class – Butterflies.
The Nursery at Linton Primary was established in the early 1990s. It offers a balance of high-quality early education within a nurturing and caring environment to children from Linton, Castle Gresley and the surrounding areas. We currently have a mixed Nursery and Reception Class and ensure that the reception children have the same experience as those in our Reception Class.
Staff in EYFS highly qualified and experienced within early years’ education and our children also benefit from having specialists in Maths, English and Special Educational Needs and Disability on hand within the school community.
We work closely with the parents and families of children in EYFS to support the differing needs of each child, aiming to ensure that the transition from Nursery to Reception and then Reception to Year 1 is as seamless and stress free as possible. Each child has a Learning Journey which is available to parents and which they are invited to contribute to. Parents’ Consultations are held during the year, giving an opportunity to meet the class teacher, however, our open-door policy means that staff are always available at the beginning or end of each session or by email if any concerns arise.
We have strong links with local childminders, working in close partnership.
We welcome visitors to see our Early Years classes in action by prior arrangement.
