Welcome Years 1 & 2 to Hedgehogs!

Class Information

PE – PE will be on a Monday morning and Thursday afternoon.  Keep kits at school to make it easier for children to remember.  Children can wear hoodies etc when the weather is colder. 

Homework:  Homework will be given out in journals on Friday evenings.  There will be a grid each term with a selection of activity ideas but children can also write about anything they wish. We often share their home learning with the rest of the class on Thursday afternoons. 

Reading:  We expect children to read at home as part of their homework.  It is extremely valuable to listen to your child read as often as possible.  Don’t forget to log when read in their Reading Record as we check these regularly.

Spellings – This year Y2 children will be given a spelling book with a list of words to learn each week.  Children will have a go at writing these words on a Friday morning.  Y1 children will start this in Jan.

Mathletics & Numbots – each child will be given a new log in cards this week.  Tasks will be set by the teacher each week.

Snacks –fruit is supplied daily but if you prefer to bring in your own we allow cereal bars, fruit, veg, any healthy snack.

Please drop and collect children at the large, double gates (Top Gates) outside our classroom.

A member of staff will be there to assist.
